Coffeehouse Hillbilly Beans in Olympia Washington Wins Coffee Fest Blender Prize Package from Big Train

In September Big Train attended Coffee Fest Seattle, where we held a contest to give  away a blender prize package. Anyone who signed up for our OnTrack™ Rewards program during the show had a chance to win a Vitamix Drink Machine Advanced blender, two pitchers and 3 free cases of product mixes. When the dust settled, the winner was a coffee shop called Hillbilly Beans, located near Olympia, WA. The owners were kind of enough to contribute to a little FAQ, so without further ado we present to you…

Hillbilly Beans In Olympia, Washington

Coffeehouse Hillbilly Beans Olympia Washington

Where are you located?

We are located in Littlerock, Washington which is between Olympia and Grand-mound at the foothills of Capitol Forest.

What types of drinks do you offer?

We offer iced, blended, and hot coffee drinks, teas, smoothies and protein shakes.

Are you known for any type of particular drink?

All of our drinks have funny “hillbilly” names. A white chocolate mocha is called a Ma’s Favorite, a mocha is called a Moonshine, Blended coffees are called Mashed, whipped cream is considered opossum pie topping and so on. Skunks seem to be one of our most popular drink; it is white chocolate and chocolate combined. Some customers enjoy a little raspberry flavor with the chocolate and white chocolate, which is called Road Kill.

Do you participate in or sponsor any community events?

Our community is pretty small but every event that occurs we try to participate and support somehow. Babes for Boobies (Susan G Komen), Littlerock Elementary fun run, rock a thon, and Christmas Auction. Rochester Haunted house and fun run. Toys for Tots, Tumwater football team and many others. If there is ever anyone in the community who needs help and support we have a day where our tips will go to them and their family.

How did “Hillbilly Beans” get its name?

Littlerock is a small town out in the country, so a fancy name or building just wouldn’t fit. We had other name ideas but they just sounded funny and definitely would not belong in the community we live in.

What Big Train products do you carry?

Lots! White Chocolate, Kona Mocha, Vanilla Smoothie, Orange Cream, 20 Below, Vanilla Latte, No Sugar Added Vanilla Latte, No Sugar Added Chai,  Spiced Chai, Vanilla Chai, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Eggnog, and Cookies and Cream.

What is your favorite Big Train product?

All of them! If I had to choose I really like the Spiced and Vanilla Chai mixed together this time of year, and in the summer I enjoy vanilla latte and white chocolate Big Train blended together.

Besides the delicious beverage mixes, what else do you like about Big Train?

Big train is the best product out there when it comes to making a blended drink. It is so simple to make a good-tasting drink when using a big train product and blender. The measurements, blenders, packaging and containers allow us to make good blended drinks in a reasonable amount of time. It is also a well-known brand and people actually come into the stand asking for Big Train! It is so nice to be able to provide our customers with all of the Big Train products we carry and allow them to choose the flavor or mix them together.

Who is your target customer base?

Men, women and children of all ages and demographics.

What is the weirdest drink you have ever made?

A hot Spiced Chai Big Train mocha and they loved it.

Do you sell more hot drinks or cold drinks?

Depends on the weather and the season but usually more hot drinks than cold.

Do you have any seasonal drinks?

Yes! During the fall and winter: Kona Mocha and Orange Creamsicle blended together tastes just like a holiday orange chocolate bar. White Chocolate or Kona Mocha blended with candy cane is very popular. The Big Train Eggnog is great and White Chocolate with pumpkin pie syrup is one of our most popular seasonal drinks.

What makes Hillbilly Beans so awesome besides the name?

The baristas and the customers that come in and the all-around theme and atmosphere of the stand, crooked roof and all!

Who is the pup in the picture? What’s his favorite drink?

That is my son’s hunting dog, Trigger, and he loves dog bones covered in our home-made whip cream or just whip cream in a cup.
